Ruby can be timid and a little anxious when new people come into the house but warms up quickly. She LOVES to play and is especially playful early in the morning til mid morning. She will sleep a lot of the mid-day and afternoon and be READY to play alot in the late afternoon or night again. She LOVES a really heavy duty rope toy. She knows "Get your toys" in an excited tone means it's time to play! She doesn't know a lot of other commands. To get her in from the back yard foster parent would use a soothing, "good girl, good girl" .” It took two weeks for her to settle into her foster home. Hang in there and love her up! She will transform into the most friendly, loving, adorable dog! She seemed to thrive in a regular routine - eating in the same place/ at the same time each day, taking her out to a tan bark area morning and night to establish a potty etc. With other dogs, she does best with polite social dogs who can give her time to warm-up, and prefers play without body contact (chase and play bows). In her foster home she was not crate trained, but would benefit from it because she can get into things when left alone. Left for a maximum of 2 hours. Email adoptions@hssv.org to learn more about her
