We picked up Kenai from the Fremont Animal Shelter on July 5th after a 6-month stay there. Shout out to the loving care he received in Fremont during his residency!

Kenai – named after the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska - would certainly have been adopted long ago except that he is aloof with a capital ‘A’. He wants to play with every dog he meets but pretty much ignores people when he’s first meeting them.

Kenai is house-trained and likes our kennel but we have not yet had success with crate training.

Kenai is impeccably behaved: no barking/howling/growling whatsoever, good with other dogs, good on leash, and good with cats – wow! When out on walks, he has a delightful, bouncy prance that causes his silky coat to wave like a super model (veeery cute). And those soulful eyes, aaah.

Kenai remains quite shut-down – so far, no tail-wagging or requests for belly rubs. After 6 months of dog shelter life, this is no surprise; we expect it to take a week or two for him to relax into home life and become a joyful boy. For now, he is receiving lots of walks, affection and ‘good boys’.

He is a neutered Male, 2 years 0 months old, Housetrained, Lead Trained, good with Large Dogs, good with Small Dogs, good with Cats, has Rabies vaccinations, has DHLPP vaccinations, microchipped.
